I was surprised when he told me that no other speaker had asked him that before. I’ve made many mistakes in the first year of launching Strong Mind as a business but asking for help and advice isn’t one of them. The absolute biggest expense in the company has been in the form of mentorship, business guidance and help from people who are good at the things I’m not. But it’s been completely worth it. There is value in learning to do things ourselves but we can’t all be experts in everything we do. Learning from others and being inspired by others is just as important in business as it is in climbing. And we miss out on so much if we’re not open to that.
