While on assignment for the @ナショナルジオグラフィック news story ‘Why Pygmies are Dealing Weed to Survive in the Congo,” I met this child at a pygmy camp in Virunga National Park, north of the city of Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Due to economic, political, environmental and other factors, Pygmy children in the Congo have little choice but to become tough at a young age.
