Photo by @magnuswennman . When I was ten years old, I wanted to be an artist and make paintings, a few years later, I decided to become a photographer. I never had to think again what I would become when I grew up. It was obvious. I remember how happy I was the first time I got an image published in the local newspaper, how nervous I was about start working at Aftonbladet and how proud I have been of all the storys that have made a difference. The only thing that's been larger is to become a father. Throughout my career I have dreamed of working for National Geographic, which has been a great inspiration. Sometimes when I've been working on a story, I've secretly told myself that I'll do as well as the photographers at National Geographic. Why think small? When James Wellford called me a year ago and asked if I was interested in making a cover story about "The Science of Sleep" it was like all pieces fell in place. I have traveled around the globe for this story. For 6 months I have visited Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Washington, Tokyo, London, Oxford, Paris, Horndal, Jukkasjärvi, Vittangi, Washington, Kolmården, San Diego, Tijuana and Washington again.
But the most important image I took a late november night in our own house. I almost cant believe that it's my own son on the cover of NG August issue.
Feels unreal. Proud.
(My son thinks I've taken better pictures :-)
