Today in 1773: William Henry Harrison, 9th president of the United States, is born. This quilt commemorated his "log cabin and cider" 1840 presidential campaign, identifying Harrison with the common man. There's also a raccoon on the roof of a house in another block. It was made by Rebecca Digs.
Harrison won the election only to die of pneumonia a month after his inauguration. #Quilt #POTUS #Mammals
