Dog Dumpling
Makes: 4 pieces
INGREDIENTS
Sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons mirin
4 tablespoons brown sugar
4 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon starch
Dumpling
50 grams glutinous rice flour
50 grams rice flour
80 milliliters water
Toppings
Roasted seaweed
Black sesame
Sliced cheese
PREPARATION
Sauce
Put all the ingredients into the pan, except the starch and 1 tablespoon water.
Heat them over a medium heat. Bring to a boil then reduce heat. Dissolve starch with 1 tablespoon water and add to the pan.
Keep stirring until the mixture thickens.
Set aside.
Dumpling
Put all the ingredients into the bowl and mix until a smooth dough is achieved.
Shape dumplings like a dog.
Put them into boiling water softly, and boil for 10 minutes.
Remove from the pan and cool in cold water.
Put a piece of dumplings on a skewer, decorate with topping and drizzle the sauce.
