I am one of the six characters in the National Geographic Society’s Last Wild Places film about the Florida Wildlife Corridor. The film team visited my family’s ranch in Central Florida and I was able to see my wife and ride horses and check camera traps with my kids, who are 9th generation Floridians. That’s me and my oldest daughter Eldridge in the first photo, captured by director @danny_schmidt, who is also in then final photo standing behind @ricksmith_media. My motivation is to improve land conservation policies so that next generation of people connected to working farms and ranches will have alternatives to the development that is otherwise on track to consume most of the remaining green space in Florida. @pathofthepanther is a #LastWildPlaces partner with @insidenatgeo.
