Photo by @jaredsoares Ayinde Martin, who is portraying a journeyman carpenter at the Carpenter’s Yard, at Colonial Williamsburg in the City of Williamsburg, Virginia. Martin has worked as a carpenter in the Yard for 10 years, using tools and methods from the period to transform trees into lumber, cut and raise heavy timber building frames, and enclose new structures with siding and roofing. The majority of the items made at the Yard will be used in and around Colonial Williamsburg.
