Photo by @williamodaniels France recently experienced one of the strongest heatwaves in years with some temperatures higher than 40 Celsius (104F) recorded for about a week, even in northern France. Just a 30 minute drive from Paris, this sunflower dried field has been so affected by the heatwave and the drought that its plants are several weeks mature ahead of time and their flower heads are three times smaller than they should be-foreshadowing a catastrophic yield.
