Photos by Keith Ladzinski @Keith Ladzinski / A #WesternTigerSwallowtail butterfly collecting nectar from a blooming thistle near the rim of the @blackcanyonnps. This act of pollination is critical to a thriving ecosystem. Getting this photo was no easy task but admittedly fun all the same - My assistant @アンジー・ペイン and I stalked this butterfly through a sage field for the better part of 30 minutes to get these photos, each with a small strobe in hand waiting for it to perch long enough so I could get low, grab focus, adjust the lights and snap off a frame or two. In the end it was a lot of fun minus the ant bites all over my legs and a few cactus needles! Glad it worked out in the end. To see more photos from this assignment please visit @Keith Ladzinski
