Photo by Tomas van Houtryve @tomasvh The early morning is always my favorite time to visit the banks of the Seine River in Paris, just before the morning bustle of the city begins. This summer is particularly calm since the arrival of tourists from abroad has been curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Bustling activity is taking place—night and day—inside the Notre-Dame cathedral however, seen on the left of this photo. Highly motivated teams of workers are still removing fire debris, melted scaffolding, and lead contamination from Notre-Dame, more than a year after a massive fire ravaged the roof and spire of the cathedral.
