“I mainly work with dental tweezers, needles, wooden sticks and a scalpel,” says Vera Märker (@kleineknetwelt) of Linsenhofen, Germany. But ultimately, she can turn even kitchen utensils such as cookie cutters or a pasta machine into tools to create imaginative worlds made of polymer clay. A trained mechanical engineer, Vera is inspired by everyday situations and people around her. “You have to look to see,” she points out. The reason for her miniature medium has practical roots: “As a teenager I just didn’t have the money to buy a lot of stuff, so I had to work small.
