It’s crazy how much time has passed, but equally amazing how much hasn’t changed. We’re all still here doing the same thing and that’s pretty dang cool. ⁣ ⁣ This trip to the Czech was all climbing in #Adrspach at #TapliceRocks a legendary sandstone climbing area known for its epic beauty BUT also the local ethics that forbid traditional protection and chalk!⁣ ⁣ Feeling particularly fit, the team comprised of modern days legends @mattsegal @cedarwright @renan_ozturk @heidiwirtz and a young hot shot by the name of @alexhonnold set to work the first day to try and dispatch all of the area’s test pieces. It didn’t take long however for all of us to realize how hard these climbs were and even more important… how difficult they were to protect. SCARY doesn’t even begin to describe it! The team retreated to the pub after that first day with tails between our legs. It didn’t take too many pints to realize that we needed to check our egos at the door and have FUN if we were going to survive the trip with legs intact. ⁣ ⁣ We quickly made friends with locals at the bar and the next thing you know a couple weeks of some of the most epic climbing, cliff jumping, slack lines, and paramotors ensued. This was actually the first time I know of a ‘para motor’ being used to film or photograph in action sports a genius idea by the @mortimer_peter @nickynoodlenose and crew @senderfilms. Though maybe someone knows of early examples?⁣ ⁣ Overall everything you need in an epic ‘expedition’ and something that I still feel so fortunate to call my ‘job’ 15 years on.」5月14日 3時06分
