When the light is low or just about gone, one of my favorite techniques to keep the photos coming is to slow down my shutter and capture the movement of the animals. On this evening in Amboseli National Park, the clouds were thick along the western horizon and the light dissipated rather quickly as the sun crept away. I slowed down my shutter speed quite a bit and focused in on these two young elephants having a little fun. By panning with my subject and keeping a slow shutter speed, I could create a motion blur effect, while still keeping the elephants relatively sharp. How do you think it turned out? Have you tried it before? Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays!
