Dreaming of the weekend? Photographer Erika Valkovicova (@lp_on_tour) captured this image of a seal pup in the morning breeze on Dune Island in Germany.
It's a finalist in @smithsonianmagazine's 15th annual photo contest. This year, the magazine received 48,000 entries from photographers in 155 countries and territories, and selected 60 finalists in multiple categories.
Vote for your favorite at Smithsonian.com/finalists through 2 p.m. ET on March 26. They will announce the Readers' Choice award alongside the Grand Prize and category winners on March 27.
