Sidereus Nuncius, sometimes called Starry Messenger, is a short work written by Galileo Galilei in 1610.
When he first turned the newly invented telescope to the heavens, the book became the first printed account of his discoveries, including mountains and valleys on the face of the moon, four satellites of Jupiter and the stars of the Milky Way.
Galileo’s drawings of the Pleiades star cluster make a stellar background for shooting stars added by our @silibraries, which hold thousands of rare books and manuscripts.?
