We’re getting ready to unveil the portraits of President @Barack Obama and Mrs. @ミシェル・オバマ at our @smithsoniannpg this Monday! The museum’s official portraits will be revealed then, but we’re hoping this portrait may help tide you over.
Mickalene Thomas playfully titled this portrait of the nation’s first African American first lady "Michelle O," creating an implicit comparison between Michelle Obama’s youthful, fashion-forward glamour and that of Jacqueline Kennedy.
