I met this goat, named Follow Me Joe, while on an assignment for the The Nature Conservancy @Nature_org. Since I shot this I have become very interested in #goats and love to make portraits of them.

Joe is a breed know as the #Anglo-Nubian, or Nubian they originated in nineteenth century from #cross-breeding between native British goats and a mixed population of large lop-eared goats imported from India, the Middle East and North Africa. Its distinguishing characteristics include large, pendulous ears and a "Roman" nose.
The breed originated in England as a 1920s–1930 cross between the Old English milch goat and imported bucks, including Zariby and #Nubian, imported from India, Russia, and Egypt.

The Nubian breed leads the way for the dairy breeds in butterfat production which makes it an important part of most farms or herding cultures
