Photograph taken by @christianziegler A Keel-billed Toucan is about to feed it's chicks with a juicy cicada. Toucans often feed small animals, like large insects, little lizards or more commonly other chicks, to their young during the breeding season (May-July). During the rest of the year, they are mainly frugivorous (fruit-eating) and play an important role in fruit dispersal.
