The vertical pilgrimage up Japanese limestone requires just as much finesse as it does strength. Dancing across the face of a route with a few fellow climbers and an audience of trees who have seen many attempts makes for the best sort of crag days. In 2018 on a shoot for Prana, I found myself deeply inspired by the dramatic features in the forests out side of Gozeb Iwa and open to the angles that might show the crag in an honest way while @クリス・シャーマ gracefully sailed up each pitch. Wide angles in tight places, in this case my 16-35mm @sonyalpha felt like the best way to do it justice.
