I can't believe that my nephew Jasper is 5 months younger than Alf, and now Hamish is 5 months younger than Ada. What are the chances, and how lucky are they to have cousins so close in age? ❤️ And most importantly, how special for my sister and I to be in this chapter together - swipe to see us back in may 2021 just as lockdown had lifted and we met our babies for the first time. And again a year later. We've done nearly everything differently - all those supposed controversial things like sleep and feeding - but we've never judged and have always supported each other and had each others backs! My sister gave birth in Holland this time around and honestly her experience this time could not have been different to her first. She felt listened to, supported and respected throughout birth (and had a positive birth even after giving birth to Hamish who was 9lbs 8ozs 🤯🏆). But the postnatal care!! Wait until you hear about the Postnatal care out there! They get a midwife who comes to their house every single day for 2 weeks. They help with anything and everything else - from helping with securing feeding and the baby's latch - she's now having an amazing Breastfeeding journey after a bad experience first time around despite her best efforts - to cleaning to cooking to allowing her to rest to checking her healing progress. Honestly I can't believe how amazing the Postnatal care is. Compared to ours. I know areas are different but I had to travel to see a midwife on day 5 of a caesarian as there aren't enough midwives in the area anymore for home visits. And I never saw one again. My sister got told off for leaving the house to get milk! Can you imagine how different it could be for parents to get the best start? Anyway, I'm so so happy Hamish is here and my sister and her family are thriving. ❤️🙏 And the cherry on the cake is seeing Alf and Jasper chat and play with each other. They're thick as thieves.
