guys, we were SO excited to visit Longleat safari park. Again, thank you all so much for the recommendation . 🦁🚗🐒 But let me tell you, it was an experience. 🤪 I’ve debated even being honest about it on here because you know that the negative Nancy’s love to jump on you.

But anyway, I think it’s important to share the highs and challenges.

So, as you probably know, Alf is absolutely animal mad. He was SO excited to “go see lions” and was talking about it all morning.
We got to the park and it started SO well.

After speaking to various friends and family members, we decided to put him on my lap in the front seat to do the drive through safari. Needless to say, we’d never do this on any actual road, and you go SO slowly throughout the whole park it never felt unsafe.

I had these expectations of us both laughing and pointing at animals together. But wow! It’s was an expectation VS realty horror show. 🤣 turns out, the safari park is quite boring for a 2.5 year old. He got bored quite quickly after the first monkey and then we were stuck trapped in the car with a toddler that was acting out because he was bored. Trying to open the door, trying to turn the gear box, opening the glove compartment. Then Ada woke up and was distraught. And we were stuck inside this car for nearly 2 hours. 🤣😭 I had to put miss Rachel on and climb into the back to get Alf back in his seat. And then put my b00b into Ada’s carseat to feed her.

At one point I debated what was worse: being stuck in the car with two unhappy children, or just feeding myself to the lions. 🤣🤣

But I’m glad we made it through because the actual park itself was so lovely! I didn’t spend much time on my phone, because I actually slept when the kids slept for an hour on the grass. I was emotionally, physically, and spiritually drained. But there is so much to do inside: Alf loved seeing the koalas and wombats. And the little playground was so magical.

Next time, I’m waiting until they’re older because the drive through was an expensive way to torture myself. 🤣 but we’re already laughing about it now. We live and we learn. 🤪🐒🚗
