These are pre production plastic pellets sent across the oceans to make plastic consumer items. Many are spilled and wash up on our beaches. They are tiny, can be confused for fish eggs by marine animals, are extremely toxic, hard to clean up, and sadly now found in the most remote places on this earth. Happy World Oceans Day from one of my happiest places 🌊

The ocean brings many of us immense joy and healing, but it’s also an essential part of our eco system. Healthy oceans and marine life are critical for life on earth 🌎

Right now the planet and oceans face many threats, from the climate crisis, plastic pollution, overfishing and IUU - illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.

Today I ask you to consider some ways that are within your capacity to help make a difference.

Here are some important factors contributing to ocean plastic pollution -

🌊 The number one plastic contaminant in our ocean is due to the fishing industry making up 70% of macro plastics found in the ocean - abandoned fishing nets, lines, ropes.
