Video by @khandelwal_saumya | On assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック We have been taking this boat for the past week to cross the Ravi & Ujh rivers in India’s Punjab. Ferrying the boat is a community act here. While the boatman and his helper take the lead, the passengers obediently follow their orders.

After a sudden fall in the water levels, the boat was stuck in the sand. A handful of people volunteered to pull the ropes and get the boat out of its predicament. And another couple of hands rowed an oar to facilitate direction.
