Photo by @tamaramerino_photography / My son Ikal looks through a window marked with body oils from the many times he's touched the glass to look outside. Some communities in Santiago, Chile, spent more than 140 days in mandatory, strict quarantine due to the pandemic. I'm exploring the connection among mother, child, and nature while being in total lockdown with limited exposure to the outdoors. It's highlighted the role of the environment in society’s collective well-being and what we stand to lose when that connection ruptures. This photo is part of my series Quarantine Diary that documents my intimate and daily life during quarantine. Follow me on @tamaramerino_photography for more.
