Happy first night of #Hanukkah! Manfred Anson made this with figurines cast from a Statue of Liberty souvenir.
Anson was an immigrant who escaped Nazi Germany as a teenager, and came to the U.S. in the 1960s. He started collecting souvenirs in his new country, amassing thousands of pieces of memorabilia of the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell and the Capitol.
Designed for the centennial of the Statue of Liberty in 1986, this Hanukkah menorah in our @国立アメリカ歴史博物館's collection is one of the first that Anson cast and one that he made for his family. Each statuette has important dates from Jewish history.
