One of them was a 19th-century screen-painting made in Korea – swipe to see it in full 🖌 The team used a non-contact 3D scanner to record the surface of the paintings, and were then able to ‘remove’ colour. This allows conservators to see the subtle relief of the painted surfaces like never before, and understand more about how these objects were made.
