Today we announce a major collaborative partnership project with LRT, @adjayeassociates and the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, with the approval of the Benin Royal Court and @EdoStateGovt – the EMOWAA Archaeology Project, Benin City. The initiative, starting in 2021, will include excavations in advance of construction of a brand-new museum in Benin City – @EMOWAA_ Designed by @adjayeassociates, the museum and its associated research institute will house a new permanent display of Benin art works in Benin City and to investigate the wider histories they represent, alongside other West African art and objects.
