Dust led to us!

Cosmic dust is essential to forming stars, planets and even organic molecules like the stuff we're made of. But where does it all come from?

Special binary or multiple-star systems may hold key clues to this mystery. As these stars orbit each other, they produce large amounts of cosmic dust and form a distinctive pinwheel pattern, as shown in this image from @esoastronomy.
