The first-ever flight of a NASA-certified commercial human spacecraft system is on its way to the @国際宇宙ステーション with its international crew of astronauts! NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission lifted off at 7:27 p.m. EST Nov. 15 from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Dr. Derek Otermat, Human Space Flight Mission Manager at Goddard:

"Last night, we launched the first operational commercial crew mission, which will change the arc of human spaceflight history by opening access to low-Earth orbit and the International Space Station to more people, more science and more commercial opportunities. Several years of hard work went into this mission from a space communications perspective. We have worked with our mission partners to synthesize the capabilities of NASA networks into comprehensive communications services for this mission and all future crewed launches. Our collaboration with our mission partners will ensure robust and reliable communications between the Mission Control Centers and the spacecraft, throughout all mission critical phases. It’s an honor to work on the Human Space Flight Communications and Tracking Network, ensuring the safety and success of @NASAastronauts on flights like @SpaceX Crew-1 – all while making history."
