'The Black Community always tells you about their horrible experience with the police, but there were no visuals of it. These paintings are solid documentation.'

In this three-part film series with Denzil Forrester, the artist highlights the important role that art plays in documenting and sharing traumatic events and lived experiences. In this film Forrester tells us about the death of his friend Winston Rose who was killed in police custody in 1981. He explains the role his art played in documenting this experience, how the event reoccurs and remains in his paintings, and how it is still very relevant today.
