'I really love painting people'

In this three-part film series we meet Tate collection artist Denzil Forrester in his studio as he reflects on his life and work.

Forrester was born in Grenada in 1956, and moved to England as a child in 1967. Previously based in London, he moved to Truro, Cornwall in 2016 and taught at Morley College. In part one of the series, filmed in the artist’s studio by his partner Phillippa, Forrester speaks of moving between islands and the impact that this had on his life and paintings.
