Warhol’s assistant Christopher Makos captured the moment in his own photograph (swipe left to see). Warhol playfully referred to his paintings depicting male nudes as ‘landscapes’. By focusing on the torso, Warhol appeared to reference both ancient Roman sculpture and erotic photography, once again blurring the lines between different art forms and emphasising the importance of sexuality to his work.⁣ ⁣ 🍑 See the Warhol's 'Torso' (Bobby Houston's bottom) on display in the artist's major exhibition at Tate Modern.
