It’s a form of pattern identification, the term for which is pareidolia. It’s a perfectly normal human tendency for identifying objects rapidly, like the face looking downward that many of you may see in this cloud formation. It’s a portal into the imagination, tapped when we look at art and iconic formations in national parks where we see signs for things like “owl rock” and “kissing camels.” #pareidolia
