Absher is an app that allows men to track women and prevent them from traveling. It’s powered by the Saudi government, and is available in Google and Apple’s app stores.
Last month 14 U.S. lawmakers called on Google and Apple to remove the controversial app from their stores. The lawmakers claim Absher helps “perpetuate sixteenth century tyranny.”
But a recent Google investigation found that Absher complies with the company’s terms and conditions. Last month Apple said it would “take a look” at the app.
