Tejana musician and fashion icon Selena Quintanilla-Pérez gained international celebrity through her music, which blended cumbia, pop, and contemporary Tejano music.
Photographer Al Rendon worked with Selena on advertising campaigns like this one for Coca-Cola. “She just came in and lit up the room,” Rendon recalled, “I remember her being very much the opposite of a diva.
