Prince (Rogers Nelson)’s life began on this day in 1958. One of the best-selling musicians of all time, Prince is also remembered for his energetic performances, film work, and songwriting. Prince fused a range of musical genres, from funk and R&B to synthpop and rock, delivering this signature sound with unapologetic style and flair. ?
Prince designed and played this "Yellow Cloud" guitar. It was custom-made in 1989 by the firm Knut-Koupee Enterprises, from the artist's native Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prince's distinctive personal symbol adorns both the top and side of the fingerboard. Custom work for famous instrumentalists and musicians provides an important marketing tool for small-scale guitar makers. ?
