This is Miike pond, as seen from Mt. Tengugajo in Aso-Kuju National Park. Emerald green water collects in summer and freezes over in the winter, allowing hikers (like the one in the photo!) to enjoy sledding or skiing as well as the beautiful scenery. Mt. Tengugajo is next to Mt. Naka-dake, the tallest peak in Kyushu.
