Video by @tbfrost | Ever wonder what kind of sounds crocodiles make? Well, this growl is one of them! The other common sound you'll hear is a very eerie hissing noise. Of course these aren't just sounds but are in fact one of the ways in which crocodiles communicate with each other. Much of these sounds are guttural meaning they come from the back of the oral cavity. This small saltwater crocodile, about 1.8-2 meters or 6 feet long, was released shortly after this video was taken. Shot on assignment for the Nat Geo Channel tv show Explorer.
