For nearly 50 years, the historic spacecraft that helped take us to the Moon and back has been in our @airandspacemuseum. Now we're getting it ready to go on a national tour.
The Apollo 11 Command Module "Columbia" will travel to four cities starting in October through our @sitesexhibitions. It will return to the museum for a permanent gallery on lunar exploration scheduled for 2020.
For now, the conservation team is preparing the artifact for travel and display at our Udvar-Hazy Center. You can see them at work from the overlook to the restoration hangar. #DestinationMoon
