Video by @amivitale. A baby giant panda snacks at Chengdu Panda Base in Sichuan Province, China. Once they are fully grown, giant pandas spend as long as 14 hours a day eating bamboo and they consume about 40 percent of their own body weight daily.
Bamboo forests are vital to ensure the continued vitality of pandas in the wild. Conservation organizations including @conservationorg are now working in partnership with government and local communities to help create and secure habitat in prime panda land. China is one of the few countries where forest cover is actually growing.
