Shooting in the mountain is always exciting, whether you are on the ground or in the air. We had to do some proximity flying in our B3 heli along the ridge tops and mountain flanks looking for a hole to get out above the clouds on my last shoot in the Canadian Rockies. I snapped this photo of swirling mist and clouds just before we popped out to blue skies above. It can feel a little desperate on the return when you’re running low on fuel and trying to find a hole in the clouds to get back to land. @thephotosociety
