Gibreel Faulkner said he took his son Jaden to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture just for the concert. Fortunately they got tickets to attend the museum and they have been rediscovering and talking about their history all evening.
"We were not expecting to get in here until November or December, so we are happy.
Slavery is not our history. Slavery interrupted black history. I don't think of us as slaves I think of us as prisoners of war," Gibreel told me.
