今日の和菓子: 螢
富山の銘菓「#薄氷 」にインスパイアされて作った外郎製の蛍。その幻想的な光は夏の訪れを感じさせてくれます。
源氏蛍や平家蛍と呼ばれるこれらの名前は、平安時代末期の源平合戦に由来すると言われております。
またその昔、死者の魂として考えられていたようです。昔からとても神秘的な存在だったんでしょうね。

Today's Wagashi : Fireflies 
In the beginning of summer, we can enjoy magical lights of fireflies blinking in the dark.
There is a legend that lightning bugs are actually the souls of the dead in Japan. Variations on the tale say that they’re the spirits of warriors who fell in battle.
