By far one of the most amazing sunrises I have seen to date, came well after the early morning crowds had cleared as their hope for "good light" seemed to fade away. I've seen this all too many times where photographers and Mayer watchers in general will line up well before the sunrise, and if it's cloudy a few minutes after its supposedly up, they jump ship. I've tended to find that some of the most dramatic scenery and light comes anytime between 30 minutes to a couple hours after the initial show. Here, the storm clouds split apart in the east, revealing pockets of sky where the sun could pour through. All the while, the fog layer floating above the Snake River lowered just enough to show the peaks towering above.
