Photo @Keith Ladzinski / With an average rain fall of 140 inches per year, it's no wonder that nearly everything in #OlympicNationalPark is covered in rich green moss. Precipitation is holding consistent here in the park, but in recent decades climate change has resulted in an earlier rain season at higher elevations. This means a more rapid snow melt in the mountains which is bringing in floods to the valleys below. Early melt out means a longer dry season and hard times for alpine animals and reduced river flow for salmon and trout migration and nesting zones. Photographed #onassignment
