Yellowstone // A herd of elk groups together during hunting season on a private agricultural field in Corwin Springs, Montana. The state of Montana has been looking into ways to better manage elk herds that will spend the duration of the hunting season on private lands, leading to challenges to hunter access and population management. In general, the valleys are private land and the mountains are public/federal land. It's a balance between many stakeholders - ranchers, hunters, wildlife watchers, and public and private interests.
