Live from Nairobi, Kenya. The burning of Kenya's Ivory stockpile today is the largest in history. Around 105 tons of elephant tusks, from approx 6,700 elephants are being torched. The estimated value is $170 million although of course this is speculative. Rhino horn is also in the mix.
Of course there are arguments for and against the burn amongst Kenyans and the wider world. But in the words of Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta pictured 'I would rather wait for judgment from future generations who I'm sure will respect the decision we have made today'
