iPhone video by @stephenwilkes: Aalsmeer Flower Auction in Aalsmeer Netherlands is the largest flower auction in the world, selling an average of 20 million flowers daily! Each of those flowers is subject to up to 30 quality checks, being given a grade before buyers make their selections from the massive inventory. The flowers with the highest marks can sell within just a few seconds.
I happened upon the auction while in the Netherlands scouting locations for my series, Day to Night. I'll be traveling throughout Europe for just a few more days before heading to my next location, almost 5,000 miles away.
