Photo by @petekmuller/@prime_collective. A hiker walks along the edge of the volcanic crater on the top of Mount #Nyiragongo in eastern DR #Congo. The summit stands at 11,382 feet (3470m) and the main crater is approximately 2 kilometers wide. The last 300 meters of climbing are a bit of a scramble up trails of loose volcanic rock. At night, the summit temperature hovers around or just below freezing.
