I found myself last night watching two beavers eat some plants and work on their dam down by the river. As I turned around, I noticed a massive storm front appearing on the horizon to the East. I jumped in my car and raced over to the flats where I knew the arrowleaf balsamroot were blooming uncontrollably. I arrived with plenty of time and got to watch as the sky ignited with color and light.
